About Dr. Kate McDonough
Dr. McDonough began working in the medical field initially as a nurse, but after visiting a chiropractor following a car accident, her life changed. Though her chiropractor she learned about a different way to view the body’s ability to heal and because of what she saw and experienced she decided to leave nursing and pursue a career in chiropractic.
Dr. McDonough developed a special interest in treating cases that were difficult to resolve with traditional chiropractic. This interest led her to spend many post graduate hours in the pursuit of more advanced training through which she has gained insight into the treatment of the most severe cases of neck and back pain as well as sciatica, and bulging or degenerative discs.
Extensive training and education has ushered Dr. McDonough into membership of a nationwide prestigious group of providers known as Disc Centers of America. These are providers dedicated to a conservative and highly effective approach called spinal decompression which is a non surgical, non invasive protocol for treatment, using the most advanced technology available. We are deeply indebted to the extensive work of Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D, Harvard Neurosurgeon who has published over 500 papers on spinal decompression and whose insight and knowledge guide our treatment protocols.
Dr. McDonough is now the official provider for this specialized treatment protocol for South of Boston and the Cape.
